OUR VISION
Our vision at The Spring is to be a real community of God’s people. So laying aside all hypocrisy and religious pretence we’ve made peace with the fact that we are simply forgiven people; cracked pots held together by the glue of God’s grace! That’s what the Bible calls REAL CHURCH, you know, forgiven people, continually encountering the astonishing and scandalous grace of God.
So you’ll find The Spring to be:
1.
CENTRED ON GOD’S WORD
At The Spring we love the Bible! We take it very seriously as it declares itself to be God’s very word to us today. It carries ultimate authority and so demands our focused attention. God’s word IS AMAZING! It brings correction, instruction, freedom, wisdom and life. So at The Spring we love to study the Bible, it is our hub and hook for all we are and do, so we are always encouraging each other to live out what it says.
2.
CONTROLLED BY GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT
At The Spring, the Word and the Spirit go hand in hand. Whenever we meet together we anticipate encountering the Living God. We are eager to seek all gifts and anointings at work in our lives for today. We seek these things and so through the breaking of bread, and especially through music and song, we find ourselves a WORSHIPPING CHURCH!
3.
CONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER
At The Spring we don’t live in one another’s pockets, but we love being with one another! We love being together because of deep connections in Jesus. We are totally INCLUSIVE in this and always have a comfy chair for visitors! Come rest a while!
4.
REFRESHED BY GOOD COMPANY
When we are in good company, we are in God’s company. That being the case, we expect and find ourselves to be rested and refreshed by our friendships together.
5.
EXCITED ENOUGH TO DISCOVER
Because God has instructed us to start more new churches, we always need people as leaders in a multitude of roles. We feel it’s imperative then for our folks to discover what their personal gifts and callings are. It is our delight to accompany and assist people on that journey of spiritual discovery.
6.
ASSURED ENOUGH TO RELEASE
At The Spring we believe that the body of the church is more than a collection of backsides! We actively encourage people to be much more than old fashioned pew shiners, indeed, we expect to release you into the function and role to which God has called you. We are assured of God’s active goodness in this and are assured of His providential placements. In other words, we believe that God has brought you here for such time as this. So, what does He want you to do?
7.
GOOD ENOUGH TO SHARE
The Spring has a heart to take this good news of the grace of God through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and proclaim it to other people in real, innovative and understandable ways. The Spring has a commission shared by the rest of the real church to tell all peoples of all cultures, races and tongues about this grace. The Spring has a plan from God to be a church that starts other churches, which will in turn start even more. The Spring then is a church planting church.
